Bad hair day number 14! There are many things I miss, mainly people, which I’ve written about in other posts. I’ve also written about some of the positive experiences of hunkering down. But…my hair is horrible and not a positive. When it is long, it isn’t too bad. When it is short, it is where… Continue reading Hunker Down Hair

Choose Wisely Men and Women
Hunkering down has been a challenge I imagine for all of us. There have also been some really good things about being hunkered down, which I believe I’ve mentioned before. I have really enjoyed working from home because it means I get to have lunch everyday with my husband, whom has also been working from… Continue reading Choose Wisely Men and Women
COVID-19 “Brain”
This is not to take COVID-19 lightly in the least. My heart goes out to all the families who have been affected by this disease. I’m just been wondering how everyone else is dealing with the emotion and mental health of being yanked out of what our lives used to be. It has now been… Continue reading COVID-19 “Brain”
The Patio is Coming!
We have gotten approval to put in our patio and gazebo from the HOA! The gazebo has been ordered and we’ve hired someone to put it together for us. The patio company will be here tomorrow with their contract. Hopefully they can get the patio poured sometime over the next two weeks. That would be… Continue reading The Patio is Coming!
Will the Jobs Come Back?
This evening I activated my son’s new iPhone. I didn’t need a Verizon person when I bought it. Didn’t really need a live person to even order it (although I did need an agent to walk me through some things via online chat). I didn’t need a live person to set the phone up or… Continue reading Will the Jobs Come Back?
Shocked, but Not Really Surprised
As I wrote yesterday, last evening was an emotional one with tears shed as information was shared and erroneous statements uncovered. As parents, we want to protect our children as best we can, wanting to keep certain facts and information to ourselves so the hurts and pains of the past remain where we’d like them,… Continue reading Shocked, but Not Really Surprised
Emotional Evening
It was an emotional evening and I am thoroughly drained. All I have to say for today is it is hard being a parent. Some days it can be even harder as an adoptive parent. It was that kind of an evening. Emotional and cathartic and much much more all at the same time. Until… Continue reading Emotional Evening
It’s Always Incremental
In order for something to become the so-called norm, the thing is introduced to us incrementally. Take the man in the Oval Office right now. He came down those escalators with a bang and told us right away who he was as a person, who he would be as a candidate, and who he would… Continue reading It’s Always Incremental
We Have Great Neighbors!
We have been twice blessed with great neighbors! In Albuquerque, we got to know our neighbors, helped them when we could, and heavens knows how much they helped us with the kids, and in not asking too many questions during some rough times. We all made sure to keep any eye on one another’s places… Continue reading We Have Great Neighbors!
Stages of Release…Are We Ready?
Our governor let us know today we will be starting a gradual release from the “hunkering down” here in Indiana. Full release is to be accomplished by July 4th. Stage 1 begins on Monday. Essential travel restrictions will no longer be in effect. Gatherings can increase to 25. Social distancing must still be practiced. Later… Continue reading Stages of Release…Are We Ready?
