According to the American Bar Association, there are currently 79 Federal Judge positions that are vacant. Of those, it appears only 30 names have been placed into nomination by the Biden administration. Meaning less than 50% of the openings have nominations in play!
Have the Democrats not learned the Judiciary, for better or for worse, are currently the wall between fascism and democracy. Each day a vacancy continues is a day closer to a possible Republican led senate.
Should the Republicans take back the senate in 2022, which is more likely than not, any judicial nominees will languish. They will languish until either the Republicans once again take back the White House, or the Democrats once again take the majority in the Senate. The former is more likely than then latter, mainly because the Democrats still have not learned to play hardball, get a message across well, or speak quite plainly to the American public in words they can more fully understand.
Until the Democrats, mainly in the Senate, learn to walk and chew gum at the same time, AND realize they may have the right ideas in mind but DON’T know how to communicate well, they are destined to lose. When that happens, it also means we are most likely destined to lose our democracy.
Get those judges in, and get on with the people’s business! In many ways, they are one and the same.
As I’ve said many times before to the Democrats, act like the house is on fire.
We need much more urgency!
We need much more conviction!
We need much more action!
