“If we didn’t do any testing, we would have very few cases.“—Actual quote from man in the Oval Office
This quote has been on my mind since I first saw the clip of him saying it. It really describes his mindset and his worldview. He really prefers to find a deceitful way to handle tough situations, or situations that are not conducive to the delusional view he has of himself.
So, if this is the new reality, then let’s apply it to everything.
If we didn’t do any testing, we would have very few kids who can’t read.
If we didn’t conduct air quality testing, we would have very little pollution.
If we didn’t test for lead, we would have very little lead poisoning from paint and pipes.
If we didn’t test for cancer, we would have very few treatments and deaths due to cancer.
If we didn’t conduct evaluations at work, we would have very few people not exceeding expectations.
If we didn’t conduct home inspections before buying, very few sellers would have to fix things and very few buyers would have to worry about what they are buying.
If we didn’t have construction inspections, we would have few violations and buildings would be much safer.
If we didn’t have annual physicals, we would have very few unhealthy and sick people.
All of that sounds preposterous right? Well, that is what the man in the Oval Office is basically saying, if we don’t test, we don’t really have a problem. All those sick people and all those deaths are just natural. Move along, nothing to see here.
The sad part is, he probably really believes this false and dangerous thought. Even sadder is, his supporters and the elected Trumpist’s will buy it as gospel without using their critical thinking skills to see how utterly and totally ridiculous he sounded.
Heaven help us because our ignorance as a society is going to end up costing us many lives, costing us our freedoms, and costing us our Democracy.
Please vote blue, no matter who so we can take ignorance out of the White House, the Senate, and many state local political offices.
