For the first time this season, I had a moment on the patio. Actually, two moments.
The weather the past two days has been absolutely gorgeous. Not too windy, not too hot. It was even shorts weather today while mowing the grass.
Yesterday, the husband and I sat for a chat just before dinner. Our patio is a place to have a moment of relaxation. A state of being much needed with the way work is going lately. We had a nice chat, and started looking at a new rug to add some color to the space.
Today even the dog got involved. She and I have a little ritual where she will jump up on the patio couch and sit beside me. She lies next to me as I write, read, or the occasional streaming video. This started in Albuquerque.
I’d bring a fan out, or a heater when things were cooler, to nap or watch the hummingbirds. She knew too if I was taking my heavy comforter out to keep warm; she’d hop up and get under the covers herself. Here at the new place, she almost always joins me on the patio. She even gets excited when I get just her leash and head towards the front porch. She will jump right up in the bench with me while keeping an eye out for stranger danger while I read out front.
What I know is I’ve missed the time to sit outside and just chill. I’ve been so looking to the warmer weather. Being outside in the summer time is the only time I’m ever really warm 🤷🏽♂️. So glad the time has come🌞!
