My dear friend Lisa was in town this evening. She is traveling through on her way to visit family. It has been over a year since we were last able to spend time together due to Covid and distance.
I picked her up at her hotel and was greeted with a big hug! She looked great as always and never ages a day!
Before going to dinner, we stopped by the house. She hadn’t been able to see it after it was finished. The last time she was in town it was a bit of a skeleton. Our traditional selfie at that time was taken while sitting on a stack of lumber lying in the yard.

As before, we went to Monical’s, a local pizza place. Unbeknownst to the host, he sat us at the exact same table we had eaten at the last time. We had a little chuckle about it now being our table.
Throughout the evening we got caught up on life. The kids, our spouses, our aspirations and current endeavors. We have one of those friendships where we pick up where last left off in seeing one another.

She is always an inspiration! A deep thinker with a deep faith. An true listener with excellent insight when asked. We laugh and commiserate. I always know I can count on her support and shoulder, and hope she knows she has mine.
I always leave feeling to be a better person after spending time with Lisa. She brings out the best in people with her heart of gold. As we say where I grew up, she’s good people!
We need more Lisa’s in the world. I’m glad she came into, and remains, a part of my life. I am already looking forward to the next visit, whenever, and wherever, that may be.
Thanks for a lovely evening my friend. Safe travels. Say hello to the family. You are in my thoughts and my prayers. Miss you already!
