As we near the final Election Day 2020, November 3, 2020 we are seeing the trumpists saying the quiet parts out loud.
The latest is should the current administration lose, it will be because of fraud. If there are no ballots, there is no loss, just a continuation of power.
We know the administration has already filed lawsuits to try and stop people from voting as well as suppressing votes cast.
They are now trying to influence the Supreme Court so it will call the current administration the winner before all votes are counted.
What has been on my mind is, who will enforce the law, and the Constitution, should he lose and, by the long shot the courts rule against him, including the Supreme Court? Who will escort him out of the White House and install Biden as the lawful winner?
It is more than apparent he has installed loyalists around him. When push comes to shove, will they be loyal to him, or to the Constitution?
It is more than apparent there are loyalist to him in the military as we’ve seen soldiers flash the white power symbol. When push comes to shove, will they honor their oath to protect the Constitution or honor their oath to him?
It is more than apparent there are loyalists to him in law enforcement as we’ve seen officers flash the white power symbol. When push comes to shove, will they honor their oath to protect and serve the public or honor their oath to him?
It is more than apparent there are armed and dangerous white supremacists gangs loyal to him. When push comes to shove will they honor his loss and stand down? If not, will law enforcement arrest these groups if they become violent?
It is more than apparent there are many who are loyal to him. If he loses, will they allow for a peaceful transfer of power? If not, will law enforcement arrest those who become violent?
These questions have been on my mind even before the non-answer to a peaceful transfer of power. I’ve had these questions because so far, no one has actually told him no and meant it. He has had court rulings against him, and he has continued to do many of those things with no one holding him accountable.
So, I’ll ask again, who will uphold and enforce our norms, our laws, our Constitution?
Will we have a peaceful transfer of power, or, will we be plunged into a second civil war?
