I’ve been thinking about this for quite some time. I think it came to mind when the Access Hollywood tapes came out about grabbing women by the p****.
There is no way to write this without offending someone, but I hope they don’t become “snowflakes” about it.
Many people whom I have admired or respected, people I would have once thought of as critical thinkers, are supporting our current administration. For the life of me, I still don’t understand, after all that has occurred over the past two years, how that can be. I just don’t understand!
I appreciate different points-of-view and perspectives on policy and politics. However, I was brought up that certain things are right and certain things are wrong. Things which I believe most everyone would agree upon as right or wrong.
Things like a man should not touch a female without permission and no means no.
Things like body slamming anyone should be admonished, not celebrated.
Things like calling for physical altercations were to be called out.
Things like lying made everyone stop paying attention to you.
Things like taking a helpless child away from a family seeking help is cruel.
Things like name-calling to be funny and mean got you ostracized.
Things like blaming others and not taking responsibility were not acceptable.
What has pushed me to more actively reflect and decide if I should Unfriend or not is some of the comments about the recent pipe-bomb recipients. The comments appear to be flippant about the possible outcome had they exploded or rampant conspiracy theories of the threats not being real.
To me, any of the above examples would have caused me to seriously reconsider my support of anyone.
I keep hearing the current administration is making America great again. But at what long-term cost?
At what cost?
