The Senate used to be called the most deliberative body in the world. It can no longer be looked at as such. It has become as complicit as the Republican House of Representatives and the White House in destroying democracy. Negotiation and compromise for the good of the country and its people, and the adherence to the Constitution all seem to be quaint remnants of the past. It seems all they do is rubber stamp and do whatever the White House tells them to do, with very rare exceptions.
Here are the current accomplices to the fall of democracy and our republic:
This group of elected officials have confirmed the worst cabinet and staff members, I would argue, ever in the history of our great country.
They allowed, through their hearings lite, the following to be confirmed (listed in order of confirmation), knowing full well these cabinet and staff picks were not up to the role in which they were nominated (for many confirmed, blame rests with some Democrats as well):
Marco Rubio, Secretary of State
Accomplishments (explicit and implicit):
- Decrease in support of Ukraine
- Support of Greenland invasion
- Decrease in support of NATO
- Increased support of Russia
- Invasion of Venezuela
- War with Iran
- Blockade, and possible invasion, of Cuba
Tulsa Gabbard, Director of National Intelligence
Accomplishments (explicit and implicit):
- Firing of key intelligence personnel
- Appears to be a participant of seizing ballots in Georgia
- War with Iran
- Relinquishing of intelligence oversight to Trump (War with Iran)
Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Defense
- Accomplishments (explicit and implicit):
- Requiring a make-up studio close to his office
- Bombing and killing of motor boat occupants
- War with Iran
- Invasion of Venezuela
- Blockade of Cuba
- Demanding reporters run all military related stories to be reviewed and approved by Pentagon before publication
- Demanding no bad pictures of him be published by the press
- Discharging assets (personnel) he deemed unworthy of military service
- Bringing christianity rhetoric into the military
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Secretary of Health and Human Services
Accomplishments:
- Anti-vaccine rhetoric and policy changes
- Largest outbreak of measles in generations
- TB breakout in U.S. concentration camps
- Cancelling billions of dollars for medical research
- Fired 10,000 people overseeing national health
- Said little to nothing after Department building was shot up by a lone gunman
Pam Bondi, U.S. Attorney General
Accomplishments (explicit and implicit):
- Refusal to follow law in the full release of the Epstein files
- Belligerent and unprofessional behavior in Congressional hearings
- Refusal to say she will comply with Congressional subpoena
- Firing of employees for just doing their jobs during investigations of Trump
- Acting in Trump’s interests rather than the country’s interests
- Dismissing major cases against Trump supporters
- Filing lawsuits against Trump’s political enemies
- Gutted Civil Rights Division
Kash Patel, Director of the FBI
Accomplishments (explicit and implicit):
- Using tax payer dollars to fly his girlfriend around
- Using tax payer dollars to attend the Olympics, then acted the fool in the locker room
- Fired counterintelligence unit
- Mishandling of Epstein files
- Buying location data on U.S. citizens for use by the government
- Impeding investigations through posts on social media
Kristi Noem, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (Former)
Accomplishments (explicit and implicit):
- Use of taxpayer dollars to buy a jet
- Alleged to be having an affair with Corey Lewandowski and flying him around on taxpayer dollars
- Turned ICE into a paramilitary group
- Allowed ICE to be trained not to follow the law (search warrants, habeas corpus)
- Allowed ICE/CBP to invade and terrorize LA, Chicago, DC, Portland, Minneapolis, and other U.S. cities
- Arresting people who were following the law in how to remain in the US
- Created concentration camps
- Deported people to countries in which they have no family, don’t speak the language, and have been listed as dangerous countries to visit
- Ignored judge’s orders regarding deportations
- Using children as bait to arrest parents
- Called protestors domestic terrorists
- Allowed ICE/CBP to have no markings, no name badges, and the use of masks to identify themselves
- Posed for photo ops to post to social media
- Did not call for investigations when ICE/CBP killed or arrested U.S. citizens
- Did not allow members of Congress to visit U.S. detention centers as the law directs
Now you know why we are where we are as a nation and how our standing in the world is no longer respected, and eroding more and more each day of the current White House regime.
To change the direction of our country for the better, please keep calling, writing, and peacefully protesting to let our members of Congress know we are not in support of what is happening and to hold those responsible accountable.
Join me and millions of concerned citizens at the upcoming No Kings III peaceful protest on Saturday, March 28. There are over 3,000 events confirmed across the country, in red states and blue states, in rural towns and large cities, and all are invited regardless of gender, race, sexuality, age, or even political leanings—if you are against the current White House regime, please show up. There were over seven million who showed up for No Kings II, the largest national protest in history; let’s go for over 12 million this time!
If you aren’t able, or don’t feel safe to do so, you’ll have another opportunity to take a stand on May 1. The May 1 general strike is asking concerned citizens to stay home from work, to not shop, and/or stay home from school that day. This is one in which you can take a stand in the comfort of your home. The people of Minneapolis held a general strike day that was successful. Let’s act in solidarity with them on May 1, 2026.
