Every day our great country goes further down the fascist path.
The Republican president is directing the Department of Justice, which used to be an independent agency, to go after anyone who, in his eyes, has wronged him. These include Leticia James, Adam Schiff, Lisa Cook, John Bolton, James Comey, just to name a few.
The Republican White House has directed ICE agents to essentially round up anyone who is speaking Spanish (for now), or is brown in color (for now). They are shooting priests in the head with non-lethal ammunition, arresting Congressional members who lawfully have the right to inspect federal facilities at any time, spraying reporters directly in the face with pepper spray and arresting them for doing their jobs, and disappearing people without their Constitutional habeas corpus (due process when being arrested) rights. There seems to be a quota of 3,000, as directed by Stephen Miller, people needing to be kidnapped every single day. It doesn’t matter, based upon reports, whether you are an American citizen or not—you brown, you fair game no matter your age, your health, your gender, or even if your pregnant.
The Republican White House and the head of Department of Defense recently told top military leaders they need to train in American cities, which means against American citizens. Read that again, the President and the Secretary of Defense want soldiers to use American cities as training grounds for combat readiness.
The Republican House and Senate members are working hard to protect a list of Epstein clients, which means a list of likely wealthy white men who were highly likely to have raped, beaten, and other committed other horrific acts towards young girls, some of which were barely starting puberty. A list that many believes includes, although none of been formally accused of any wrongdoing as being on the list just means you are on the list: Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Prince Andrew, Bill Gates, Peter Thiel, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Bill Richardson, Les Wexner, and many more.
The Republican House and Senate members, and the White House, passed a bill that dramatically decreased funding for the social safety net, but dramatically increased the budget for ICE, while also decreased dramatically the amount of taxes paid by billionaires.
The Republican White House has, and is, calling up state National Guard members against state governors wishes, and now National Guard members from other states to invade certain U.S. cities in another state.
The Republican White House has even stated it would use the Insurrection Act, which means martial law for all of us, and allows the White House to essentially arrest anyone who doesn’t agree with their policies through peaceful protest as enemies.
The Republican White House and the Secretary of Defense just gave the go ahead for Qatar to use an American military base to train their pilots. This is the same country that had allegations it may have helped finance the 911 terrorists, and that it has been linked to financing of terrorism in general. This is who is being allowed into U.S. air space and onto one of our military bases.
As a final example of what is happening, the Republican President actually believes their are war zones in our great larger cities. He even believes that Portland, OR, is literally on fire, that it is actually a war zone. The President’s head of Homeland Security even went so far as to say the Portland Mayor and Oregon governor is actually covering up the terrorism hitting the streets of Portland when Noem’s recent visit to Portland showed nothing was happening.
Now here is the grow and up wake up part, and I’m not going to tone down my remarks. If you have any common sense or critical thinking skills left, then I urge you to stand up and say, especially if you are a Republican, what is happening is wrong and undemocratic. You need to get your behind out to a protest, write or call your elected officials, and call out bullshit each and every time you see Republicans lying or breaking the law. Because if you don’t, our great country and what has made it great, but not perfect, these past 250 year will be gone for you, for me, for our children, our grandchildren, and so on.
It is up to you to finally admit that your vote for Trump, if you voted for him, was wrong. That his destruction of our country is wrong. That beating up, zip tying, arresting, lying about, and harassing people is wrong. That sending troops into American cities is wrong. That what the Republicans is doing, or not doing when it comes to their Constitutional duties, is wrong.
We all need to come together to stop a wanna be dictator from further taking over our great United States of America!
I’ve often said we all need to be involved in saving democracy in the ways which fit our lives and our comfort levels. These can be blogging, reposting on social media, calling your elected officials, letters to the editor, donating to organizations, and/or marching in the streets. Nothing is too little or too much. Here are some ways to get involved whether from the comfort of your own homes, or on the streets, over the next few weeks:
- Attend the No Kings rally and protest on October 18. Millions need to be there to show the Republican regime we are a democracy, not a dictatorship.
- Sign up for General Strike and commit to participating.
- Download the app Five Calls to help let your elected officials know you are paying attention and don’t approve. Website: https://5calls.org/
- Join a local group of Indivisible.
- Participate in the action items of50501: 50 Protests, 50 States, 1 Movement.
- Continue to boycott companies who have bent the knee or no longer believe in equality. Don’t buy from national chains or companies, such as Target, Amazon, Tesla, Walmart, Apple, Disney and any others who are bending the knee and capitulating to authoritarianism and the billionaire class.
- Write letters to your local papers expressing your disappointment and tell your stories of how the Republican administration is harming our families.
- Do something, anything, peaceful to fight back!
