Our great country is compromised!
The Presidency is compromised. The Vice Presidency is compromised. The United States Speaker of the House is compromised. The United States Senate Majority Leader is compromised. The United States House of Representatives is compromised. The United States Senate is compromised. The Department of Homeland Security is compromised. The Supreme Court of the United States is compromised. The Governorships and State Houses of many states are compromised. The FBI is compromised. The Department of Justice is compromised. The Department of Housing and Urban Development is compromised. The Department of Defense is compromised. The National Security Agency is compromised. The Department of Education is compromised at both the national and state levels. The Department of Health and Human Services is compromised. Mainstream (Legacy) Media is compromised. Social media is compromised. Many United States citizens are compromised. Even ICE is compromised.
How do we know?
The president is sending troops into American cities for no reason other than what appears to be they are either democratic strongholds or have majority minority populations. The vice president appears to have been okay with bombing Venezuelan boats killing people. The Speaker of the House seems to prefer not having the House in session over swearing in a newly elected member or confronting the release of the Epstein files. The Senate Majority Leader has not called on any Department Heads to resign due to their overreach. The U.S. House of Representatives and Senate have abdicated their role to serve as a check on overreach of the President and calling for either resignations of Department Heads or impeachment of Justices over ethics violations. Homeland Security appears to be perfectly okay with sidestepping Habeas Corpus, disappearing people to foreign countries, pushing pregnant women and the elderly to the ground, zip tying children, and arresting people just because they aren’t white. The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled 87% of the time in Trump’s favor even after all lower courts ruled against Trump’s unconstitutional decisions. Governors and Statehouses are passing laws to limit who votes, gerrymander districts so democrats can never win, and taking rights away from their constituents. The FBI just fired someone who refused to perform a perp walk for the Republican administration to use as propaganda piece. The Department of Justice appears to be acting as Trump’s personal law firm and doing his bidding regardless of the law. HUD is posting political commentary and lies on its website regarding the Republican government shutdown. The Department of Defense was just told this week that American cities are training grounds and no one walked out, nor have they arrested Trump and his lackeys for violating and stating orders that are unconstitutional. The NSA head has been reported to have Russian ties. The Department of Education has cut funds to needed grants and has withheld, and attempted to withhold, funds to help students in need and funds to train teachers to teach better. The HHS is being lead by a man who believes more in pseudo-science than actual science and conspiracy theories, and has lead to the resignations of top scientists who have kept us safe, as well as seemingly to inspire someone to fire upon the HHS building. Mainstream media reports more opinion than fact, airs everything Trump says, no longer speaks truth to power, and are more interested in profits over actual journalism. Leaders of social media appear to be altering logarithms to allow for more divisive language, lies, and mis-/disinformation without fact checking or taking it down, plus collecting our data and selling it without asking or compensating us. Trump voters seem to be very misinformed by their media outlets and don’t appear to have the ability and/or inclination to gain facts or believe truths about Trump and Republicans. ICE, as an extension of Homeland Security, seems to be arresting and disappearing both non-citizens and citizens alike, while also acting with impunity towards humans in general.
Democracy seems to be dead, but if not, it is most definitely on a hiatus.
I’ve often said we all need to be involved in saving democracy in the ways which fit our lives and our comfort levels. These can be blogging, reposting on social media, calling your elected officials, letters to the editor, donating to organizations, and/or marching in the streets. Nothing is too little or too much. Here are some ways to get involved whether from the comfort of your own homes, or on the streets, over the next few weeks:
Attend the No Kings rally and protest on October 18. Millions need to be there to show the Republican regime we are a democracy, not a dictatorship.
Call your U.S. Senator to demand they fight the Republican administration’s defiance of the court in following laws and the Constitution. The switchboard number is 202-224-3121. They will connect you with the correct senators. If you get their voicemail, which I do often, make sure to leave your name and address for your call to be registered as received.

Continue to boycott companies who have bent the knee or no longer believe in equality. Don’t buy from national chains or companies, such as Target, Amazon, Tesla, Walmart, Apple, Disney and any others who are bending the knee and capitulating to authoritarianism and the billionaire class.
Write letters to your local papers expressing your disappointment and tell your stories of how the Republican administration is harming our families.
Please say thank you in some way to the universities, law firms, companies, and organizations not bending the knee and capitulating to the fascist-acting Republican Administration.
