I wonder when…

As we have watched the Republican White House, and complicit Republican Congressional members and other local and state elected Republicans, continue their mission to demolish democracy and the United States, I’ve been wondering when certain things will happen.

We have already experienced the capitulation of law firms, universities, media outlets, businesses, and state and local politicians. When each of these organizations and people bow down, it harms not just them, but all of us.

Each action by the Republicans is a test or to make us normalize things that aren’t normal, to get used to illegal activities occurring in plain sight, or to cause more chaos to keep us off our balance.

All in the service of an alleged pedophile, an adjudicated (guilty) sexual assaulter, convicted felon (fraud) and habitual liar.

It is only a matter of time, unless we all rise up to stop it, before any or all of these potentials become realities.

I wonder when Rachel Maddow and other journalists speaking out against the Trump regime will be arrested during a live broadcast.

I wonder when the national guard and military personnel will be placed in all of the major cities of the country.

I wonder when a national guard member or military personnel will fire upon and kill a protester.

I wonder when Gavin Newson and J.B. Pritzker will be arrested and charged with treason.

I wonder when the first execution will be of a perceived enemy of Trump that is publicly broadcast.

I wonder when more hyped up charges will be brought against influential people perceived to be enemy or dissenters of Trump.

I wonder when the homeless, the disabled, the elderly, the gays, the non-Christians, and others will start to just disappear.

I wonder when the U.S. Supreme Court will rule to say Trump can fire anyone he chooses, thus truly making Trump king and dictator.

I wonder when Trump fires those overseeing The Fed which causes the stock market to crash and inflation to reach new highs.

I wonder when it will be too late to stop the madness.

I wonder when…

What do you wonder when about?

I’ve often said we all need to be involved in saving democracy in the ways which fit our lives and our comfort levels. These can be blogging, reposting on social media, calling your elected officials, letters to the editor, donating to organizations, and/or marching in the streets. Nothing is too little or too much. Here are some ways to get involved whether from the comfort of your own homes, or on the streets, over the next few weeks:

  • Participate in the Labor Day Workers Over Billionaires national protest.
  • Call your U.S. Senator to demand they fight the Republican administration’s defiance of the court in following laws and the Constitution. The switchboard number is 202-224-3121. They will connect you with the correct senators. If you get their voicemail, which I do often, make sure to leave your name and address for your call to be registered as received.
  • Sign up for General Strike and commit to participating.
  • Download the app Five Calls to help let your elected officials know you are paying attention and don’t approve. Website: https://5calls.org/
  • Join a local group of Indivisible.
  • Participate in the action items of50501: 50 Protests, 50 States, 1 Movement.
  • Continue to boycott companies who have bent the knee or no longer believe in equality. Don’t buy from national chains or companies, such as Target, Amazon, Tesla, Walmart and any others who are bending the knee and capitulating to authoritarianism and the billionaire class.
  • Write letters to your local papers expressing your disappointment and tell your stories of how the Republican administration is harming our families.
  • Please say thank you in some way to the universities, law firms, companies, and organizations not bending the knee and capitulating to the fascist-acting Republican Administration.
  • Watch for and attend the next big nationwide protest when announced.
  • Do something, anything, peaceful to fight back!
